House of Hops

Hello all, back from a wonderful vacation in Mexico.  The weather was fine, the beaches were warm and sandy…the cervaza…mmmm…lets just say I had plenty.   Mexican lager beer is like drinking beer flavored water!!  The best part of the trip was being able to fully enjoy my grand daughter on her first outing to the ocean…she of course was the highlight of my trip!!

Well gang, the family and I are about to start our spring vacation.  Off to the beaches in Mexico….My wife and I are really excited this year, because we are able to take our grandaughter (all of 17 mos) with us for her first experience at the ocean.  I hope to post a view pics when we get back of the memorable time with her.  Until then, my blog will not be active, as if it really was….Its my hope that after returning from the trip and start into some serious brewing that my blog will be and running…till then CHEERS!!

Well mmmmmm lets see…ok.  Just kegged one today.  Whats on tap… Evil Twin Dead Red   Black Ice 2IPA…out of style guidelines…a black 2IPA..something similiar to Stone Brewery’s Anniv IPA. Last and not least…McDole 2IPA.  Both black ice and McDole were using distilled water and profiled and dry hopped in the primary….Intial taste tests of both of these have been awesome!  Dry hopping in the primary is here to stay at my brewery.  

Well after months of convincing my financial officer (my wife) she agreed that it was time to purchase the BM….I poked myself time and time again to see if I was dreaming…, but hey I wasnt…and as of Feb 25, 2008 I ordered my “machine”.  Since that time, I been busy on the forum reading, posting, but mainly learning of whats to come.  I dont like learning curves….I want to know all about it even before I open the box.  The BM has opened the door for me.  Bringing in new friends with lots of talent and best of all they all seem eager to share their triumphs as well as their tribulations.  Brewing, for me, is about to change
